Hey all,
After an awesome weekend at Look Lake I have nothing but great tales. While everyone else drove the 6 1/2 hour drive almost to the border of Illinois and Wisconsin, Court and I decided to fly up after work on Thursday the 3rd. We rented a Charger and drove about an hour to the lake house, battling the infamous traffic jams of Chi-town. We finally arrive and find a riviting game of landmines being played. So we slid in like butter and started to lay our own mines. After consuming numerous beers and a couple glasses of blended scotch (woof), i was quite toasty.
We retired for the evening at about 2, i had been up from 530 that morning, so i quite tired. That next day provided a world of fun and hurt. From a breakfast beer and suntan lotioned up we hit the lake. Megan was first to hit the wakeboard, and she was quite a pro. Brandon followed up with a less than stellar performance, when he claimed when he was 16 he had done a flip on a wakeboard. hmmm maybe that was a dream or something. Brad followed and managed after a while to get up and we quickly snapped pictures. YA Bradley! Josh followed him and did just as poorly as the rest of us. Basically Megan Nelson and Brad were the only ones who were able to do it.
From there we we a little sauced so we came in for some lunch and some volleyball. With courtney diving for balls ...lol...and lauren flailing about when the ball was coming her was it was quite a game. So we ate and thought tubing might be more up our alley. This was a trip.
Holding contests to see who could hang on the longest came to be the challenge of the weekend. Josh hit a nice wave and bounce off the tube and wid a summersault into the water. Courtney flipped out of the middle(which we all thought was immpossible) and almost drown from laughing to hard. And when I got skipped across the water at 40mph, my coinpurse was feeling it.
The last night we all thought maybe it would be good to go to the townie bar up the street, so we walked...staggered...and jumped right into the karaoke ring. "the flaming assholes" wow we looked cool! That night ended in turmoil when the boys defended the honor of a lady....caution when drinking it can impair your judgement. All was resolved sort of and we left again with another story.
Pretty much from bags, to mosquitos, to s'mores, fireworks, beer, wine, ribs, more bags, and bar fights, this was a weekend for the record books.
Lets make it a yearly deal!!!!
Much Love
