So I finally received the film in the mail. Sat down and while eating some "sandwiches," I ate some jimmy johns yum . . . dug into the essence of the story. Seeing quick cameos from many familiar faces was a nice beginning. Let us begin with the music choices for Box Elder...fantastic. With songs from HAHA TONKA and PAVEMENT, provides a great background and a spot on synergy with the rest of the film. I will have to watch it a few more time so I can really wrap my head around the ridiculousness of Rennie. The silly thing is that most of the actors in the movie are carbon copies of how they are in real life. The mustache parties, as well as all of the clothing and accessories were all real. One can relate to a film like this, because there are people like this all around us, just waiting to be punched in the face, kicked in the balls, and to enjoy sandwiches with. The constant boozing and lack of cleanliness and disregard for each other is a prime exposure of college life. Bottom line, I will continue to analyze this Box Elder, and am sure it will find me with new exciting promises each time watched. Congrats to Todd Sklar, a man who grows a nasty beard, but is by far one of the nicest guys you'll ever have the luck to meet. A stand up guy to say the least. Rennie what can I say, but keep on keepin' on. I'm really proud of you all and home to see more in the future. You have my full support and I wish nothing but the most success and greatest happiness in your futures. Well done. I'd buy the sequel, and will spread the life of Box Elder to everyone I know.
Much Love
