Mom's Deli

Well I went to Mom's Deli today for lunch, and let me tell you it was hopping down there. After a good 20 minutes of line standing my expectations where quite high to say the least. I couldn't critique the food by tasting just one sandwich, so I picked 2. Some might say, "Thats a lot of food," but I say its just plain delicious. I ordered Mom's Special as well as the Poor Boy. The Mom's Special was definitely superior. Turkey, ham, roast beef, cheese lettuce, tomato, pickle, and thousand island dressing on french bread. This was a great delight, the thousand island really set of the flavors. I will return to here for sure. The poor boy was decent but with a mustard blend spread it just wasn't for me. Mom's is where its at.

Shakes

What is your favorite flavor when indulging in a milkshake? I used to be a straight Chocolate man all the way, thinking that was my favorite and thats the only flavor that anyone should consume. I am here today to say nay! There are other equally delicious flavors like you basic Vanilla. I will say that I never gave vanilla a chance, thinking it plain taste was just not enough. When you realize that you have the VAnilla that sets off the milkshake its great. Let me tell you its a refreshing change to choose vanilla. I'm still a sucker for chocolate in general. A Three Musketeer or Milky Way is my choice, but you can't ignore the basics of the Hershey Bar. Such an important decision in choosing a candy bar.

Movie going I have a few choices to try. Now... I have never liked popcorn nor to hear the chewing of popcorn while watching a movie on the big screen. I enjoy Snow Caps, Dots, Jujyfruits, or Reese's Pieces. Give me a nice diet soda that I can sip on throughout the movie and i'm happy. I don't like people who get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie. Is your bladder really that small that you can't hold it for an hour and a half. You simply disrupt the whole theatre as your big head blocks the projector. Thanks all for now.

Drinks

Some might say that Beer is the superior drink out there, i might agree, but i'm here to tell you that there are more options. Bourbon and Scotch are suitable substitutes and sometimes superior to the simply brew. I enjoy Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, Glenlivet, or Glenfiddich. In a situation where these are not available i choose Jack Daniel's or Jim Beam, or if you know them as well as i do John and James. Sometimes I just need a nice glass on the rocks and on the rare occasion just neat. I would never advise anyone to mix any sort of cola with these better bourbons, that is just silly, you might as well have a rum and coke...woof. Anyways next time you are looking to have a drink try to think outside the comfort of just the normal brew.

Link or Patty

The age old question of breakfast sausage, links or Patties? I say links, i think it is just classic and what sausage should represent. I don't want a smashed piece of meat like that. Anyways, I had breakfast for dinner tonight. 3 Eggs over easy with shredded cheese dusted on top with salt and pepper, toasted honey wheat bread and butter, and sausage links. Don't get much better than that. I then pondered if i should eat everything separately or make a sandwich. if anyone knows me, they know i am a straight up sandwich man. The only mistake i made, was to not add honey mustard to the sandwich, i am ashamed i didn't think of it at the time. Hope everyone has a good week.

Honey Mustard

What could be better than Honey Mustard. I will say that I have never liked just honey or just mustard, but a combo of the two is bliss. I don't know if I've ever revealed on the blog what the special drink combo, soda with ice and a splash of skim milk on top, damn good. I have still be having trouble drinking milk, and I am super disappointed for stopping at all. I believe that Court and I will be trying BRAVO! tomorrow evening so be looking for my review, it could make or break this place. Thank god tomorrow is Friday, i need to relax a bit, so tense!

Microwave

The microwave is a dreadful machine. If you'd known me back in the day, you know that my family never had a microwave. This is because that no great flavor can come out of one of those vile machines. I have always wondered why they make it so damn hard to see into a microwave. "They" put some sore of grated window for you to peer through, but you can never completely focus to see if cheese is melting correctly, for example. I find myself leaning side to side in order to create a clear path of vision. Is there some reason for this difficult task. Either way I don't like it, and all I want is to see if my nachos are melting evenly. Don't be fooled the oven is the only place for real homemade nachos, but in a pinch it will suffice. Next time you "Nuke" some food, try to take a closer look, it may be more difficult that you had ever imagined.
