Back to basics

Over the past few years I have spread through many topics and only one falls superior. Yes that's right FOOD! I enjoyed a salami and colbyjack sandwich on white bread for lunch. Now listen up... I've always been a wheat bread guy and have in now way abandoned my wheat consuption and heritage I simple could not find the bread section in the grocery store. White is for panzys. I'm starving now, well not starving but I would like to eat, might cook up some zucinii and onions, maybe some leftovers or pasta. Either way it will be a feast. Remember never stop eating...

Happy New Year

Well I hope everyone made it through New Years in one piece. Courtney and I decided to go see a movie and have dinner with each other on New Year's Eve. We went to see Twilight at the Chesterfield Mall Theater, it was pretty good. Definitely not what I expected from a vampire film, but I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure if it was the bottle of champagne that we split while watching or what, but I was pleasantly surprised. We went on the a restaurant in the Central West End called Scape. I had a big plate of spaghetti and a softball size meatball on top, it was fantastic. Court had some dish that had a fancy name for ravioli. We sat down and after we ordered a waiter came over and set a plate down and said, "Compliments of the Chef," and left. It was some nuts and greens covered in a coconut cotton candy, It was the weirdest and most delicious surprise I'd ever tried in my life, I was quite impressed. The service was stupendous and we will return most definitely. Hope the rest of you had a good start to the new year...

Box Elder

So I finally received the film in the mail. Sat down and while eating some "sandwiches," I ate some jimmy johns yum . . . dug into the essence of the story. Seeing quick cameos from many familiar faces was a nice beginning. Let us begin with the music choices for Box Elder...fantastic. With songs from HAHA TONKA and PAVEMENT, provides a great background and a spot on synergy with the rest of the film. I will have to watch it a few more time so I can really wrap my head around the ridiculousness of Rennie. The silly thing is that most of the actors in the movie are carbon copies of how they are in real life. The mustache parties, as well as all of the clothing and accessories were all real. One can relate to a film like this, because there are people like this all around us, just waiting to be punched in the face, kicked in the balls, and to enjoy sandwiches with. The constant boozing and lack of cleanliness and disregard for each other is a prime exposure of college life. Bottom line, I will continue to analyze this Box Elder, and am sure it will find me with new exciting promises each time watched. Congrats to Todd Sklar, a man who grows a nasty beard, but is by far one of the nicest guys you'll ever have the luck to meet. A stand up guy to say the least. Rennie what can I say, but keep on keepin' on. I'm really proud of you all and home to see more in the future. You have my full support and I wish nothing but the most success and greatest happiness in your futures. Well done. I'd buy the sequel, and will spread the life of Box Elder to everyone I know.

GOOD TIMES

Friday night was a great one as always with everyone. We started at hacienda for some food, and a few mexican beers. From there it was to clayton, where we looked in Roxannes and felt it was too intimate for our liking. so we hopped across the street to barristars to relax at a table and sip on some makers mark. Courtney and the gals showed up and that pushed the lemon drop shot, followed up by a red bull vodka, then another shot, and a beer. oh ya and I forgot the tequilla shot at hacienda, then to brandons for cigars and more beer. All in all it was a great night. Everyone had a good time and hope everyone can get together again real soon.

George Update

George said that I needed to include him in my blogs more often so I said I'd make him a topic of conversation. He recently got a fantastic haircut at Pets-mart, and he is still nice and soft. He enjoys chewing on plastic water bottles and big 2-liter soda bottles, as well as dropping his hard bones off the couch onto the pergo making a huge bang every time. He's a pretty good watch dog, because every time he sees anything outside he will bark like a maniac. Here are some pictures of the little bugger over the years.

Scotch and Cigars

What could be better than a nice glass of 12 year old scotch and a mild cigar. I'll tell you...nothing! Not much makes me happier than sitting on a porch with a cigar with a heat lamp on me drinking scotch on the rocks, shootin' the shit. With winter upon us, it makes it a little rough to be out, but with a nice heater it can be bearable.
