Opening Doors

My Cousin Kevin made a great comment on Facebook the other day pertaining to people opening doors and holding them for you coming into a building. This may sound innocent enough but it is quite disturbing if you break it down. Someone opens a door and holds it and you are at least 20 feet away, you are then forced to at least jog as to not put the person out. So pretty much this person make you stress yourself by a simple act. It shows how much power people really have over us. The next time someone opens a door I will show them... i might say "hold on a sec" and start tying my shoe, or just continue to walk slowly or even slow my pace. If they are making a commitment like that then they better be prepared for a battle royal. Now i"m not discounting this gesture of kindness, but you have to realize the effect on others. In all reality if there is a 90 year old woman walking super slow you are not going to wait 30 seconds for her to get there, but when you have a young person you make them run or jog to come in a building. You are not doing anyone any favors. I can open my own doors, thanks anyways. So beware if I open a long distance door for you I'm purposely putting you out. Thanks for the insight Kev.

Oceano Bistro

Courtney and I dined last night at Oceano Bistro. Service was great, everyone greeted us as we can through the door to the table. We had two managers check in on us through the meal, and they were much appreciated. The atmosphere was pretty quiet for a Friday night, I thought, but who likes to have a nice dinner in a loud spot. We sat near the window and not in the main dinning room which we preferred anyways. We started with a couple drinks, Court had a nice glass of Zinfandel and I had a glass of Glenlivet 16 year old scotch. We decided to try the Crab Cakes for an appetizer and that decision was a good one. I think I could eat crab cakes once a week I like them so much. We then enjoyed a couple pieces of bread with their kalamata olive oil with red pepper dipping sauce, fantastic. It was so good I decided to drip some one my shirt to save for later. We then awaited our main course. Court got some Chicken with a garlic mashed potato puree, could have used a little more garlic, but we love garlic. I got the Scallops with a truffle sauce and grilled portobello, one word delicious. I though scallops might be a little iffy and that it wouldn't fill me up, but I was quite satisfied, almost didn't finish. We opted out of dessert. The prices weren't too bad, the drinks themselves cast 20 bucks so if we didn't get a drink it would have been 50-60 bucks Good thing we had a nice gift card from Nelson and Megan for our engagement. I will return again, Courtney might not, just because of the lack of non-seafood options. I would go back for a drink and an appetizer for a late bite.

I Love You, Man.

Courtney and I went to go see, I love you man last Saturday and it was great. This was probably one of the most refreshing movies that i've seen in a really long time. I laughed so hard at so many parts that I'm sure that I missed some more funny stuff being said. This is the kind of movie that you continue to talk about day after day, and that you could be sitting doing nothing or riding in a car and burst into laughter thinking about a certain part. I would suggest it to everyone, and it is a definite purchase when it comes out. I think watching movies is one of my most favorite things to do besides eat. If anyone is wondering, i snuck some Taco Bell in for lunch today, and had some hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner, fantastic. I mean who could ask for more? Seems to be getting warmer out, the wedding is only 6 months away, can't believe it, exciting times. hope all is well, and that everyone is finding happiness in what they are doing in life.

Saucy

This word can be used to describe anything from how much sauce is on you pasta, or how sloppy drunk you are after consuming large amounts of alcohol. Guess which definition is used more frequently??? Last night was a late one 4am, but who could ask for a more pleasant bit of weather. I think I spent 1/2 hour inside the whole night. Court and Lauren were in the kitchen most of the evening (where the women should be) dancing and carrying on for hours. I shot a look a Brad a few time to relay that those two are dangerous together. All I know is I saw Brad, Brett, and Lauren pillage a bowl of home made mac n cheese, if a finger was in there it might have been bit in the piranha type feeding frenzie

Summer

Is summer here already?? It's 80 degrees outside, I wish I was sitting by the pool getting a tan. Tomorrow night should be so much fun, I really love having the people I care about so much to share my life with. With scotch, vodka, beer, and wine available, the nice should end in an epic fashion. At least one could only hope. Those who couldn't make it you will be missed thoughrouly. Many picture will have to b captured and passed around for everyones pleasure. See you all then.
