My Cousin Kevin made a great comment on Facebook the other day pertaining to people opening doors and holding them for you coming into a building. This may sound innocent enough but it is quite disturbing if you break it down. Someone opens a door and holds it and you are at least 20 feet away, you are then forced to at least jog as to not put the person out. So pretty much this person make you stress yourself by a simple act. It shows how much power people really have over us. The next time someone opens a door I will show them... i might say "hold on a sec" and start tying my shoe, or just continue to walk slowly or even slow my pace. If they are making a commitment like that then they better be prepared for a battle royal. Now i"m not discounting this gesture of kindness, but you have to realize the effect on others. In all reality if there is a 90 year old woman walking super slow you are not going to wait 30 seconds for her to get there, but when you have a young person you make them run or jog to come in a building. You are not doing anyone any favors. I can open my own doors, thanks anyways. So beware if I open a long distance door for you I'm purposely putting you out. Thanks for the insight Kev.
Much Love
